Urgent Needs

My dreams
coming true!

The courses developed here are not designed in equaling to those courses in colleges or universities in America; rather the courses are developed based on the need for those children’s education from Pre-Kindergarten to high school levels.

Most educational materials will be printed in Cambodia and they only can be used in COI’s schools.  In rare cases, some materials will be purchased from America for COI school.  COI also allows teachers who had many years of experiences in specialty areas to teach.  Those teachers can create their own curriculum of study to be used in the school after approval.

International teachers should be hired based on the curriculum of study.  Qualified candidates must have degrees from two college or university.  Transcripts will be required as well as sample of essay both in Khmer and English with the standard of grammar usage.  In case of a shortage of teaching candidates, COI can assign teachers who are most qualified to teach in the areas of his or her specialty.  Because of the school settings in different provinces, applicants should consider their shelter arrangement in advance as well as the safety of their well-being.

Salaries should be based on the living condition of those teachers who work for college and universities in Cambodia, except those who are from countries other than Cambodia will be compensated according to their expertise in the areas of teaching.

Each course runs for one semester.  Each student who graduates with a certificate from a previous course can register for the next one.

Cambodian Orphanage International University is planned to have set up.  The future of international accreditation will be planned in the future.  COIU seeks to have authority to grant degree that any country will accept.

English—2 hour class

English is the most important for COI to teach.  Without proper certification, some time it is hard for those candidates to teach.  The candidates need to be proficient at all.

  1. ESL—English as a Second Language is the most effective for those small children and can be taught by many college graduates.
  2. ESOL—English as a Second for Other Language is very essential for everyone and can be taught by any candidate who has proficient language experience.
  3. EFL—English for Foreigner Language is perfect for Khmer students who, after graduate, can continue their study in college and universities.

  5. Writing—This course should stress mostly on writing with correct grammar; journal writing is our best plan for students to practice everyday and share with the world.  They can publish on the Internet or share with their classmates.  They can also exchange their writing pieces among students from many different schools in Cambodia.
