About Us
We wanted to take a quick moment to tell you about the Cambodian
street children. |
Cambodian Orphanage International was founded in 1999 by
Phamara Uong, a Cambodian American who
immigrated to the United States in 1981 after being made
a refugee by the Cambodian Genocide. His mission is to
help the orphans and street children of Cambodia whose
suffering he has known so well. COI strives not only to
bring tangible aid and hope to the lives of these
poverty-stricken children but also to serve as a
catalyst for greater humanitarian involvement in
Cambodia. COI provides food, clothing, fresh water,
health care, and educational assistance to children
without hope for a future in the Third World. Most of
COI's financial support for these philanthropic
activities comes from ordinary people like you in the
United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, and elsewhere
around the world.
Cambodian Orphanage International’s crucial humanitarian
programs continue to grow through the support of
important monthly contributions from its many
conscientious donors.
|
Cambodian Orphanage International’s programs grow as
people throughout the United States, Canada, Australia,
and Europe continue to respond to the needs of children
victimized by war. To provide long-term, ongoing care
for children in crisis, Cambodian Orphanage
International developed its first child sponsorship
program in Cambodia in 1999.
Cambodian Orphanage International has dug several
wells, bringing fresh, clean water and the gift of
health to hundreds of children. The simple solution of
bringing clean drinking water immediately eliminates
many diseases, saving the lives of innumerable street
children. There are many other projects on the drawing
board for the upliftment of these poor victims of
circumstance. Of course, though, as time goes on,
Cambodian Orphanage International shall be in the
position to fulfill all these projects only as the
support from our donor base permits.
